    Uptodown Turbo Launches with Unique Subscription Features

    Uptodown has officially launched its new subscription service, Uptodown Turbo, aimed at enhancing user experience while promoting sustainability within the app marketplace. Designed for privacy, safety, and user independence, the service offers exclusive features that cater to users who want to maximise their experience on the Uptodown platform.

    During the testing phase, over 37,000 users pre-registered for the service, demonstrating strong interest in its offerings. Uptodown Turbo seeks to establish a new paradigm in app distribution by focusing on user interests, free from the constraints of traditional advertising and the influence of larger platforms.

    Subscribers can look forward to a variety of benefits, including ad-free navigation, enhanced security features, and profile customisation options. Additional perks such as exclusive avatars, highlighted community comments, and priority support are also part of the package. The company has promised that new features will be rolled out in the coming months, further enriching the user experience.

    The subscription service is priced at £2.99 per month plus regional taxes, with an annual option available for £24.99, offering a 30% discount compared to the monthly rate. As a bonus, subscribers will also receive discounts of up to 80% on NordVPN, a popular virtual private network service known for its efficiency and reliability.

    Uptodown Turbo aims to provide a sustainable funding model amid shifting dynamics in online advertising. With traditional monetisation methods facing challenges, Uptodown believes that introducing a VIP service can maintain high standards while supporting the platform’s independence. Luis Hernandez, CEO of Uptodown, stated, “Uptodown Turbo is the first step in changing the way apps are distributed and sourced in the mobile industry.”

    He emphasised the importance of building an app store that is independent, private, and secure, prioritising the interests of both users and developers. Hernandez also noted that a shift in the relationship between the platform and its community is essential for this vision to succeed.

    Importantly, Uptodown will continue to offer its services free of charge to non-Turbo users, who will still have access to basic features along with integrated advertising. This approach allows Uptodown to cater to a wider audience while providing enhanced services to those who opt for the subscription.

    As the mobile ecosystem evolves, Uptodown Turbo represents a significant step towards a new model that prioritises user experience and community engagement. By subscribing to the service, users not only gain access to premium features but also contribute to the ongoing sustainability of the Uptodown project.
